Privacy Policy
Last updated July 2, 2026
This policy explains what data SnapDub (snapdub.ai) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It reflects how the Service actually works.
1. Data we collect
- Account data — your name, email, and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.
- Media you submit — videos you upload; for URL ingestion, the link you provide and the video downloaded from it; and any reference voice sample you provide for dubbing.
- Generated output — transcripts, translations, dubbed audio, and the vertical clips we produce for you.
- Billing data — your subscription status and credit ledger. Payments are handled by Stripe; we store a Stripe customer reference but never see or store full card numbers.
- Technical data — logs, IP address, and timestamps used for security, abuse prevention, and reliability.
2. How we use it
To run the processing pipeline (transcription, moment detection, translation, optional dubbing/voice-cloning, optional lip-sync, captioning, and 9:16 export), deliver your clips, manage credits and billing, keep the Service secure, and prevent abuse. We do not sell your personal data or use your videos to train models for third parties.
3. Where processing happens & who we share with
We rely on a small set of subprocessors:
- Cloudflare R2 — object storage for your source media and generated clips.
- RunPod — on-demand GPU compute that runs our processing workers.
- Stripe — subscription billing and card verification.
- Video URL sources (e.g. YouTube) — accessed only when you supply a link you're authorised to use.
- Open-source AI models (speech-to-text, translation LLM, voice synthesis, lip-sync) run on our own infrastructure — your media is not sent to external AI APIs for processing. Model files may be fetched from providers such as Hugging Face.
4. Voice & likeness
A reference voice sample is used solely to produce the dub you requested for that job and is not used for any other purpose. Because voice and face data can be sensitive, you must have consent from anyone whose voice or likeness you process (see our Terms).
5. Data retention & deletion
Your source media and clips are retained while your account is active so you can access them. Public demo links are automatically deleted after 14 days. You can delete individual projects/clips, or your entire account and its associated media, at any time. Backups and logs are purged on a rolling basis.
6. Your rights
Depending on your location (e.g. under GDPR/UK GDPR or CCPA) you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these, contact us.
7. Cookies & local storage
We use only essential cookies: a session cookie to keep you signed in, an optional "remember me" cookie, and a cookie that records your cookie-consent choice. We don't use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
8. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed, worker callbacks are signed and token-authenticated, and access to media is scoped to your account. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.
9. International transfers
Our storage and compute providers may process data in the United States or other regions. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards.
10. Children
SnapDub isn't intended for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
11. Changes & contact
We may update this policy; material changes will be posted here with a new "last updated" date. Privacy questions? Contact us.
