A Zoom recording in gallery view is a grid of small rectangles, most of them people not talking. Cropped to vertical without thought, you get a column through the middle of the grid: two half-faces and somebody's ceiling.
SnapDub crops to whoever is speaking rather than to the middle of the picture, and follows the turn when somebody answers. If the call was recorded in speaker view instead, that is easier still - the person talking is already the frame, and it just needs cropping and captioning.
On calls people talk over each other and half of them are muted. Clips come out cut at the turns in the conversation, so an answer arrives with its question rather than as a fragment that starts mid-word.
