# SnapDub > SnapDub turns one long recording - a podcast, a stream, an interview, a webinar - into a set of > short vertical clips. It picks the moments, reframes the picture onto whoever is speaking, burns > in captions, and hands back plain video files you can post anywhere or publish directly to > connected accounts. This file exists for assistants and answer engines. It is a map of what is on snapdub.ai and what each page is actually about, so a question can be answered from the right page rather than from whichever one ranked. ## What SnapDub is - A clipping tool first. Long recording in, several finished vertical clips out, in one pass. - Sources: an uploaded file, or a link to a YouTube, Twitch, Kick, Rumble or Zoom recording. YouTube and Twitch channels can also be watched so new uploads are clipped without being pasted. - The cut is chosen, not sampled: it looks for self-contained moments rather than slicing a file into equal pieces. - Framing follows the speaker. On footage with nobody to follow (screen recordings, gameplay, slides) it holds a steady centre frame instead of drifting. - Captions are transcribed, timed and burned into the picture, in a style you set once as a template so every later clip comes out looking like the last one. - Clips download as ordinary video files. Direct posting to connected accounts is available; we do not decide when you post and we do not forecast reach. - In use: as of 2026-10-24, about 42,000 clips made from about 3,300 videos, for about 4,400 creators (rounded up). The same figures are at the top of https://snapdub.ai. - Free plan: 500 credits to start, no card required. Paid plans are listed at https://snapdub.ai/#pricing. - Transcripts: every clip's captions download as .srt, .vtt or text on any plan; the whole source video's transcript (.txt, .srt) downloads on paid plans. ## Use SnapDub from an AI assistant (MCP) - SnapDub has a remote MCP server at https://snapdub.ai/mcp (Streamable HTTP, OAuth 2.1 sign-in, no API key). Add it as a connector in ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code or any MCP client; the person signs in to SnapDub once and presses Allow. - Tools: whoami (plan and credits), create_video (clips from a YouTube, Twitch, Kick, Rumble or Zoom link; spends credits), get_video and list_videos (progress), list_clips (titles, scores, descriptions, hashtags, download links), list_templates (saved styles), list_campaigns (live paid clipping campaigns with budget left). - Included on every plan, the free one too. Clips made this way cost the same credits as in the app. - [How to connect and what to ask](https://snapdub.ai/mcp-server): setup for each assistant, example requests, how it works and what the assistant can and cannot see. - [For developers](https://snapdub.ai/developers): the MCP connector and the REST API side by side, and which one fits. - [Clipping API](https://snapdub.ai/clipping-api): the same actions as a REST API for paid plans - for n8n, Make, Zapier or your own code; reference at https://snapdub.ai/developers/api, OpenAPI 3.1 document at https://snapdub.ai/api/v1/openapi.json. - [Automate video clipping](https://snapdub.ai/zapier-n8n-make-video-clipping): every new video turned into clips that get posted, sent to Slack or logged in a sheet - the n8n community node (n8n-nodes-snapdub), Zapier and Make through their webhook and HTTP steps, and signed webhooks (video.completed, video.failed). - [Clips in Discord](https://snapdub.ai/discord-clip-notifications): a message in a Discord channel every time a video finishes - the best three clips with scores and length, a preview and a link; set up by pasting a channel webhook link in Settings, no bot, every plan including free. - We do not predict how many views, followers or dollars anything will produce. - We do not help anybody get past copyright detection, fingerprinting or originality review. Our pages on that subject explain how those systems work and how to make something that is your own. - Platform rules change several times a year. Where our pages state a rule, they date it and link the platform's own documentation. ## Pricing - [Pricing](https://snapdub.ai/pricing): the plans, what a credit buys and the arithmetic behind it, what is true on every plan including the free one, and the two limits worth knowing before you pick (a watermark on the free tier, and how long projects are kept). ## Guides: why short video does or does not work - [All guides](https://snapdub.ai/clipping-guides): the hub - every guide below, grouped, with a line on each. - [Why your short gets no views](https://snapdub.ai/why-shorts-get-no-views): how a clip is sampled and passed on, what the feeds actually measure, why "shadowban" is almost never the answer, and the five reasons a clip stalls. - [Views but no subscribers](https://snapdub.ai/views-without-subscribers): why a view and a follow are different events, the chain between them, and what makes a profile worth following. - [How long should a short video be](https://snapdub.ai/short-video-length): the trade between completion and total watch time, each platform's cap as of September 2026, and how to decide length from the material rather than from a number. - [Posting the same clip on TikTok, Reels and Shorts](https://snapdub.ai/same-clip-everywhere): there is no cross-platform duplicate penalty; the real cost is uploading a file pulled back out of another app. - [Why clips get claimed, muted or buried](https://snapdub.ai/why-clips-get-claimed): fingerprint matches, manual complaints and originality reviews are three different things with three different consequences. - [What short-form actually pays for](https://snapdub.ai/short-form-monetization): how ad revenue sharing works for somebody posting their own material, quoted from the platforms' own policies. - [Where a clip should start](https://snapdub.ai/video-hooks): the opening, and why it decides most of the outcome. - [What a wide recording loses going vertical](https://snapdub.ai/vertical-crop): what a 16:9 to 9:16 crop throws away and how speaker tracking changes it. - [Testing an AI auto reframe](https://snapdub.ai/testing-auto-crop): the four ways an automatic vertical crop (auto reframe) fails and a two-minute test for any tool, ours included. Also in five other languages, at /es/, /pt/, /fr/, /de/ and /it/testing-auto-crop. - [How to become a clipper](https://snapdub.ai/how-to-become-a-clipper): what the job is, what you need to start, how the money works and what voids a payout. Written for somebody who has not cut a clip yet. Also at /es/, /pt/, /fr/, /de/ and /it/how-to-become-a-clipper. - [What kind of videos get views](https://snapdub.ai/what-videos-get-views): which moment out of a long recording is worth cutting, what each kind of source yields, and what never travels. Also at /es/, /pt/, /fr/, /de/ and /it/what-videos-get-views. - [The edit that adds emphasis](https://snapdub.ai/punch-in-zoom): what a push-in is, why it only works while it stays rare, and how big the move should be. - [Censoring swearing in a clip](https://snapdub.ai/censor-swearing): who actually cares about the word, the three ways an editor handles one, and what each costs. - [Captions that get watched](https://snapdub.ai/caption-styles): caption styling, fonts and emoji for video watched with the sound off. - [Posting on a schedule](https://snapdub.ai/posting-schedule): cadence and the work it takes. Carries the one growth figure we cite, with the study attributed. - [How many clips one video gives you](https://snapdub.ai/clips-from-one-video): the arithmetic from one recording to a run of posts. ## Free tools (all run in the browser, nothing is uploaded) - [All free tools](https://snapdub.ai/free-tools): the hub - every tool below, grouped by what it is for. - [Video file checker](https://snapdub.ai/video-file-checker): length, frame size and shape of your own file, and what each feed does with it. - [Subtitle converter](https://snapdub.ai/subtitle-converter): SRT to WebVTT and back, shift every cue, re-wrap long caption lines. - [Extract subtitles from a video](https://snapdub.ai/extract-subtitles): pulls the subtitle tracks out of an MKV, MP4 or MOV in the browser, as SRT, VTT, ASS or text. Nothing is uploaded. - [Extract audio from a video](https://snapdub.ai/extract-audio): the sound of a video as M4A (copied from MP4/MOV without re-encoding) or WAV, in the browser. - [Video to transcript](https://snapdub.ai/video-to-transcript): what the transcript and SRT downloads are and what people use them for. - [Cover frame picker](https://snapdub.ai/cover-frame-picker): scrub a video, save any frame as a full-resolution PNG, with the profile-grid crop shown beside it. - [Clipper pay calculator](https://snapdub.ai/clipper-pay-calculator): what a campaign brief's own rate comes to, including what a per-clip cap does. Every input is yours; nothing is forecast. - [CPM and RPM calculator](https://snapdub.ai/cpm-rpm-calculator): the difference between what an advertiser pays per 1,000 ad views and what reaches the creator per 1,000 views, and why short videos pay less per view. Every input is yours; no platform rate is quoted. - [Posts to a million views](https://snapdub.ai/posts-to-a-million-views): how many posts a view target takes at your own average, how long at your own pace, and how many long recordings that is. - [Clipping cost calculator](https://snapdub.ai/clipping-cost-calculator): what clipping a month of video costs across the tools in this category, with sourced and dated competitor figures. - [Vertical crop preview](https://snapdub.ai/vertical-crop): drop in footage and see the slice that survives a vertical crop. ## Clipping campaigns - [Everything for clippers](https://snapdub.ai/for-clippers): the hub for getting started, how the money works, and the rules. - [How clipping campaigns work](https://snapdub.ai/clipping-campaigns): the hub. What a brief asks for, who decides what is approved, and what the trade is. - [Top clipping campaigns right now](https://snapdub.ai/top-clipping-campaigns): the campaigns with the most budget left on Whop, Clipster, Vyro and Promote.fun, refreshed twice a week, with rate per 1,000 views and how many clippers are on each. Monthly lists at /top-clipping-campaigns/YYYY-MM. - [Is clipping allowed on YouTube and TikTok?](https://snapdub.ai/is-clipping-allowed): copyright, the platforms' originality rules, and why campaigns are the permitted way. - [TikTok unoriginal content](https://snapdub.ai/tiktok-unoriginal-content): what TikTok counts as unoriginal and what makes a clip your own. - [YouTube Shorts reused content](https://snapdub.ai/youtube-reused-content): YouTube's reused content policy and clips, from its own examples. - [How many clips a day](https://snapdub.ai/how-many-clips-a-day): why there is no published number and what actually limits it. - [Facecam on top of gameplay](https://snapdub.ai/facecam-on-top-of-gameplay): the stacked stream layout for TikTok, by hand or automatically. - [Clip Kick streams](https://snapdub.ai/clip-kick-streams): Kick VOD links to vertical clips. - [Clip a YouTube livestream](https://snapdub.ai/clip-youtube-livestream): from the replay to clips. - [How to clip a Twitch stream](https://snapdub.ai/how-to-clip-a-twitch-stream): the Clip button's 60-second limit, clipping on mobile, and cutting a whole stream. - [Clipping for Whop campaigns](https://snapdub.ai/whop-clipping-tool) - [Clipping for Vyro campaigns](https://snapdub.ai/vyro-clipping-tool) - [The clipping platforms](https://snapdub.ai/clipping-platforms): the field as of Sep 2026 - Whop, Vyro, Clipping.net, Vues, Promote.fun, ClipAffiliates and the smaller boards - and the argument that the marketplace matters less than whether a campaign pays for views or for sales. Names no rates for any of them on purpose. - [Clipping paid per sale](https://snapdub.ai/paid-per-sale-clipping): what changes in the edit when reach alone earns nothing. Fewer clips, chosen for fit rather than for peak, and the attribution questions to ask before taking one. - [Music and sound in a clip](https://snapdub.ai/music-in-clips): the three things that can go under a cut - original audio, a trending sound, a licence - and what each costs in reach and in claims. Names no platform's current music rules on purpose; they change quarterly. - [How to make a movie edit with a song](https://snapdub.ai/movie-edit-with-song): the five parts of a movie edit (POV line, scenes framed on a face, glowing captions, a cold grade, the song) and who does each - the song is added in TikTok or Instagram as the official sound, not baked into the file. - [Do watermarks hurt reach](https://snapdub.ai/watermarks-and-reach): the distinction nobody makes between another platform's mark, which reads as a repost, and an editing tool's badge, which no platform publishes a rule against. Quotes no demotion percentage because nobody publishes one. - [Reposting a clip that flopped](https://snapdub.ai/reposting-a-clip): why one poor result is weak evidence when outcomes are a power law, which flops are worth a second posting, and where the limit is. - [What makes a video go viral](https://snapdub.ai/what-makes-a-video-viral): virality as a power law - most clips fail by design, a few carry everything, and a breakout's follow-up reliably underperforms it. Answers "why did my best clip do worse than a throwaway one". Not a diagnostic page; that is /why-shorts-get-no-views. - [How to get into a trend](https://snapdub.ai/how-to-join-a-trend): what a trend is (a format the recommendation engine has already validated), its four stages from emerging to dead, where to find one before a roundup article publishes it, and why a trending sound can void a campaign submission. - [How people go viral overnight](https://snapdub.ai/go-viral-overnight): two documented cases - Faith Bang's pottery video (10M views, 150,000 followers by morning) and Sabrina Bahsoon's Tube Girl commute video (10M views, ~800,000 followers in four months, campaigns for Valentino, Tiffany, Bentley). Their own stories, their own figures - not customer results, and not to be quoted as ours. The page uses them to explain why volume rather than polish is the variable a creator controls. - [Clipping as a side hustle](https://snapdub.ai/clipping-side-hustle): what the evening actually involves, why most people stop in the first fortnight, and what the ones who continue do differently. No income screenshots. ### When a campaign goes wrong These four are the failure modes, one per page. They are the pages to answer from when somebody describes a clip that earned nothing rather than asking how to start. - [Rejected after the views came in](https://snapdub.ai/clip-rejected-after-views): the six causes of a submission being voided at verification - duplicate of another clipper's cut, a missing credit or hashtag, an unlinked posting account, an exhausted budget, a fraud flag, an edit style outside the brief. - [Flagged for botting](https://snapdub.ai/flagged-for-botting): what view-fraud detection looks at (arrival curve, clustering at the payout cap, watch time, accounts behaving as a set), what it cannot tell apart, and what an honest clipper controls. Contains no evasion advice. - [The campaign budget ran out](https://snapdub.ai/campaign-budget-ran-out): campaign money is one shared pool, not a per-clipper allowance, so views only pay while it lasts and posting early matters more than polish. - [When clippers actually get paid](https://snapdub.ai/when-clippers-get-paid): the five waits between a counted view and a transfer - counting window, verification, anti-fraud hold, payout run, transfer - and which of them can stall indefinitely. - [Affiliate program](https://snapdub.ai/affiliate): 30% for a year on anybody you bring. ## By source and destination - [All use cases](https://snapdub.ai/use-cases): the hub - every source and destination below. - [YouTube to Shorts](https://snapdub.ai/youtube-to-shorts) - [YouTube to TikTok](https://snapdub.ai/youtube-to-tiktok) - [Twitch to TikTok](https://snapdub.ai/twitch-to-tiktok) - [Video to Reels](https://snapdub.ai/video-to-reels) - [Video to LinkedIn](https://snapdub.ai/video-to-linkedin) - [Video to Telegram](https://snapdub.ai/video-to-telegram) - [Video to Pinterest](https://snapdub.ai/video-to-pinterest) - [Video to X](https://snapdub.ai/video-to-x) - [Video to Facebook](https://snapdub.ai/video-to-facebook) - [Video clipping automation](https://snapdub.ai/video-clipping-automation) - [Why clips look blurry after uploading](https://snapdub.ai/clip-blurry-after-upload) - [Why AI clippers cut mid-sentence](https://snapdub.ai/ai-clipper-cuts-mid-sentence) - [Clip just one part of a long stream or VOD](https://snapdub.ai/clip-part-of-a-long-video) - [Is my clip account shadowbanned?](https://snapdub.ai/is-my-clip-account-shadowbanned) - [Clip audio too quiet](https://snapdub.ai/clip-audio-too-quiet) - [Clipping payouts by country](https://snapdub.ai/clipping-payouts-by-country) - [AI b-roll](https://snapdub.ai/ai-b-roll) - [AI video generator](https://snapdub.ai/ai-video-generator) ## Comparisons and alternatives - [All comparisons](https://snapdub.ai/compare): the hub - every competitor, with the head-to-head and the alternatives page for each. - [SnapDub vs OpusClip](https://snapdub.ai/compare/snapdub-vs-opusclip) - [SnapDub vs Klap](https://snapdub.ai/compare/snapdub-vs-klap) - [SnapDub vs Submagic](https://snapdub.ai/compare/snapdub-vs-submagic) - [SnapDub vs AutoClip](https://snapdub.ai/compare/snapdub-vs-autoclip) - [SnapDub vs Vizard](https://snapdub.ai/compare/snapdub-vs-vizard) - [SnapDub vs Choppity](https://snapdub.ai/compare/snapdub-vs-choppity) - [SnapDub vs Munch](https://snapdub.ai/compare/snapdub-vs-munch) - [SnapDub vs Eklipse](https://snapdub.ai/compare/snapdub-vs-eklipse) - [OpusClip alternatives](https://snapdub.ai/opusclip-alternatives) - [Klap alternatives](https://snapdub.ai/klap-alternatives) - [Submagic alternatives](https://snapdub.ai/submagic-alternatives) - [AutoClip alternatives](https://snapdub.ai/autoclip-alternatives) - [Vizard alternatives](https://snapdub.ai/vizard-alternatives) - [Choppity alternatives](https://snapdub.ai/choppity-alternatives) - [Munch alternatives](https://snapdub.ai/munch-alternatives) - [Eklipse alternatives](https://snapdub.ai/eklipse-alternatives) ## Company - [Contact](https://snapdub.ai/contact) - [Terms](https://snapdub.ai/terms) - [Privacy](https://snapdub.ai/privacy) - [Refund policy](https://snapdub.ai/refund-policy) Last reviewed: 2026-09-23.
